2024 Alaska Advanced Rural Child Trauma Training Institute

Admission

Welcome!

Each year, the Alaska Advanced Trauma Training Institute features local Alaskan and national experts who share the latest research and advances in the neurobiology of traumatic stress, trauma-informed systems, and clinical interventions for complex trauma in children and adults. This high-quality professional development opportunity exists to expand the knowledge of and support the development of trauma-informed care for behavioral health and social service providers across Alaska.

This year, we are pleased to announce an additional opportunity for learning and professional development through our inaugural Alaska Advanced Rural Child Trauma Training Institute. This event will focus on the unique challenges of providing trauma informed care for children living in rural communities such as access, provision of treatment via telehealth, provider training in evidence-based practices, rural engagement, and cultural competency.

In addition to our scheduled presentations, we will also have four optional half hour-long professional networking sessions, before and after the conference (schedule below). Through the use of Zoom breakout rooms, participants will be randomly assigned and have the opportunity to meet other attendees in small groups. Participants are welcome to join any, or all sessions.

This is a one-day conference that will be offered via Zoom. There is no fee to attend.

Registration Information:

Registration is easy – just click the registration tab at the top of the page and you will be taken to the form. Each individual who wishes to attend should complete a unique registration. On the day of the conference, if multiple people attend under one Zoom ID, the registered individual will need to email each additional participant’s name and email address to trainingteam@akbh.org for certificates of attendance. Registration space is limited, please do not forward or share the Zoom link you receive after registration.
