On this day, we remember the tragic events of 9/11 and honor the lives lost. The impact of that day is felt deeply, even years later, by many individuals and families.
At Alaska Behavioral Health, we are here to provide support for those who continue to be affected, whether by this tragedy or by other experiences of grief and loss. You don’t have to navigate these difficult emotions alone—our compassionate team is here to help.

Suicide can affect every one of us. By raising awareness, reducing the stigma and taking action, we can help to reduce the instances of suicide around the world. Small actions can make a big difference: every chat, no matter how small, builds a more supportive and understanding society.

Dr. Mia Galioto recently joined our team as a Child & Adult Psychiatrist!
She enjoys working with kids "because they are fun!" The hardest, but most rewarding part is helping their caregivers. After calling Chicago home-base for a while (Go Cubs!), she is happy to be in Alaska. She especially loves winter and cold weather!
Dr. Galioto performs psychiatric evaluations and medication management for both children and adults. She sees a lot of children with ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, PTSD, depression and anxiety. She has immediate openings for new clients and can't wait to serve you!

Save the Date: Virtual Rural Child Trauma Training Conference is scheduled for December 4!
For more than ten years, Alaska Behavioral Health has hosted the annual Alaska Advanced Trauma Training Institute, featuring local Alaskan and national experts who share the latest research and advances in the neurobiology of traumatic stress, trauma-informed systems, and clinical interventions for complex trauma in children and adults. This high-quality professional development opportunity exists to expand the knowledge of and support the development of trauma-informed care for behavioral health and social service providers across Alaska.
This year, we are pleased to announce an additional opportunity for learning and professional development through our inaugural Alaska Advanced Rural Child Trauma Training Institute. This event will focus on the unique challenges of providing trauma informed care for children living in rural communities such as access, provision of treatment via telehealth, provider training in evidence-based practices, rural engagement, and cultural competency.
This is a one-day training that will be offered in a distance learning format via Zoom.
More information and registration will be available on our website soon, but go ahead and mark your calendars!
