Joshua Arvidson, MSS., LCSW
Chief Operating Officer
Joshua Arvidson, MSS., LCSW is the Chief Operating Officer at Alaska Behavioral Health. Joshua is the founder of the Alaska Child Trauma Center and the Director of the Rural Child Trauma Center, both are National Child Traumatic Stress Network Treatment and Training Centers. Joshua has been a licensed clinical social worker for over two decades and is a licensed professional counselor supervisor. Joshua served as the Co-Project Director for two of Alaska’s first SAMHSA-recognized CCBHCs (Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics). Joshua serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Child and Adolescent Trauma and has taught graduate course for both the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Social Work and Clinical Psychology programs. Joshua has published multiple peer-reviewed research and clinical papers in the fields of child and adult trauma treatment, clinical screening, risk prevention and integrated care.

Kristin Mortenson, MS, LPC-S
Clinical Director
Kristin Mortenson, is the Director of Early Child and Outpatient Services at Alaska Behavioral Health. As part of the Alaska Child trauma Center since inception, Kristin provides mental health services to children and families impacted by trauma and is a nationally certified ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency) trainer.

Marissa Hanson, MSW, LCSW
Clinical Director
Marissa Hanson, MSW, LCSW is a Clinical Director for the Partial Hospitalization Program, Residential Services, and Power Center at Alaska Behavioral Health. She has a Certificate in Interpersonal Trauma Studies and has been working with children and their families who have experienced trauma since 2010. Marissa provides trauma training and clinical consultation throughout Alaska.

Clinical Manager - Anchorage Child & Family Clinic
Catherine is the clinical manager at the Child and Family Clinic, where she’s all about helping kids and their families heal from trauma. As a licensed professional counselor, she’s spent years finding the best ways to support her clients on their unique journeys to wellness and found her way to AKBH. A graduate from both UAA and APU, Catherine believes in being a lifelong learner and is always curious about the world around her. She loves spending time with her Alaskan-born family, creating lasting memories together. When she’s not at work, you can find her diving into gaming—whether it’s tabletop or video games—traveling, reading, or tending to her backyard chickens and greenhouse.

Amanda Nalewaja, LCSW
Clinical Manager, Anchorage Intensive Outpatient Program and Wrap-Around Services
Amanda Nalewaja (pronounced nal-ehv-eye-uh), LCSW, holds degrees in Social Work with a minor in Children’s Mental Health. She currently works as a Clinician with Alaska Behavioral Health in Child and Family Services where she provides services focusing on enhancing overall wellness of youth and families. When not at the clinic, Amanda enjoys video games and getting into nature.

Chioma Iwuoha, BA
Program Manager for Partial Hospitalization Programs
Alaskan born and raised, Chioma Iwuoha comes to Alaska Behavioral Health with a Bachelor of Arts and a minor in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Chioma manages the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for both Child and Family and Adult services. She is dedicated to strengthening and cultivating the ease of access to support individuals on their healing journeys. Chioma enjoys artistic pursuits, reading, being in Alaska's beautiful outdoors and creating memories with friends and family (especially the furry, four-legged ones!)

Clinical Associate Supervisor - Little Tykes
Mandie Zarecki, BSW, earned her degree from University of Alaska - Anchorage. As a Clinical Associate Supervisor for Little Tykes and a Clinical Associate for Child Partial Hospitalization Program, Mandie is dedicated to helping kids navigate their emotions—one tiny triumph at a time. She believes in the power of a good laugh (and a good snack) to make the healing process a bit brighter. When she's not at work, you'll find her in the kitchen trying new recipes, lost in a book, or shopping for the latest must-haves. After all, self-care is just as important as care for others!

Jesse Barrett, LCSW is a Clinician in Child and Family Services based in Fairbank. Jesse studied social work at the undergrad and graduate levels, with a concentration in mental health and trauma. Jesse is passionate about serving his community. He is a giant nerd and big time animal lover. He has experience in working in mental health, addiction, and developmental disability.

Jeremy Boynton, MA
Fairbanks Clinician
Jeremy Boynton graduated with his Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University in Tigard, Oregon. During his time in the Pacific Northwest, he gained experience working with children, adolescents, and families in both outpatient and inpatient settings. He continues to work with this population at the Alaska Behavioral Health Child & Family services clinic in Fairbanks. Jeremy has particular training in individual and family therapy - Offering approaches such as child-centered play therapy and systemic family therapy among other evidenced-based approaches. True to his Alaskan upbringing, Jeremy enjoys the outdoors, fishing, and DIY projects of all sorts. He also enjoys painting, cooking, reading, and organizing

Lauren Hoffman, M. Ed is a school-based clinician with the AK Rises program at AKBH. Lauren attained her Masters in Education with a specialization in School Counseling from Seattle University. Lauren has partnered with children and families to create success for over a decade. As a lifelong Alaskan, Lauren is passionate about serving her community. When not at AKBH, Lauren can be found engaging in any art or craft project, exploring her community, reading, or spending time with family and friends.

Fairbanks Clinician
Katina Sammons, MA, completed her undergrad and graduate work at Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia, with a concentration on mental health and addictions work. She completed her internship for her master’s program at AKBH Child and Family Clinic Fairbanks. Katina also has experience working in both residential and outpatient substance use programs, and is passionate about helping where ever help is needed. Katina enjoys crafting, cooking, and all things outdoors (especially if it involves water).

Aubrielle Champagne, M.A. graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Northwest Nazarene University. Her clinical focus areas are Children and Family, as well as Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral and Play Therapy. She enjoys working with children and families to reach their goals and establish healthy connections within the community. In her free time, she enjoys beading, making fry bread, and various sports such as coaching ice hockey.

Anjanae Chever-Watson, MS, graduated with her Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hodges University in Fort Meyers, Florida in 2022. Anjanae has a passion for helping others heal and overcome adversity. She has 9 years of experience working with children and adolescents in the school system and 3 years of experience working in the mental health field. She is excited to be apart of the Children’s Partial Hospitalization Program. Anjanae was born and raised in Florida and moved to Anchorage, Alaska in December 2023. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exploring, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Jeffry Crews, MS

Jeffry Crews, M.S., is a Clinician on the AKBH Child and Family Services team. He graduated from UAA with a master’s in clinical psychology. Initially brought to Alaska over 10 years ago by the US Coast Guard, Jeffry has been working with the veterans and their families over at the Cohen Clinic. This work has made Jeffry passionate about helping children and families overcome life’s challenging transitions. In his spare time Jeffry loves to cook, hike and camp with his family. He enjoys playing and snuggling with his 3 cats.

Rhiannon King, LPC, graduated from Maryville University of St. Louis with a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling. She works as a Clinician in Child, Youth, and Family Outpatient and will focus on the school-based mental health program within ASD. Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed using evidence-based practices. She believes in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children and their caregivers. In her free time, Rhiannon enjoys discovering what Alaska has to offer, reading mystery/thriller books, and trying new foods.

Fernanda Ruiz, MS, graduated with her Master of Science degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Fernanda has worked with young children and their families for about five years as a bilingual teacher. Fernanda is passionate about helping children and families overcome battles and barriers when it comes to mental health. Alexandar (Ali) Setty, MSW, earned her MSW from Quinnipiac University in North Haven, Connecticut. She is originally from Boston, MA, and played on Brandeis University’s soccer and softball teams. She is still an avid sports fan, and interned for the NCAA. When not working, Ali spends her time with her husband and three young boys playing with every toy car/truck imaginable. They recently moved back to the US from Misawa, Japan - which was a terrific learning experience!

She is guided by compassion, resilience, and a dedication to uplifting others. During free time, Nayeli likes to crochet, read, and spend time with family.

Holly McCamant started her career as a Peer Support Specialist at The Power Center and is now Clinical Associate for the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). She is passionate about community-oriented change and continually learning more about global and local issues.
