Annual Alaska Advanced Trauma Training Institute 2025

Event Registration

12th Annual

The Alaska Child Trauma Center at Alaska Behavioral Health hosted our 12th Annual Alaska Advanced Trauma Training Institute on May 28th and 29th, 2025. Over 200 attendees from Alaska and beyond gathered in downtown Anchorage for two days of trauma-focused workshops and seminars.

This year’s speakers provided an impressive array of both new and returning topics, including military and first responder support, cultural competency in trauma care, and resiliency & burnout prevention. More information on all our speakers and their presentations can be found here on the 12th Annual Institute page.

While many attendees were behavioral health employees, the audience included people from all walks of life – from veterans, to teachers, to parents. The trauma institute is meant to provide comprehensive trauma training to those who may interact with others experiencing trauma and seeking advanced training. We want to thank all our amazing speakers and attendees for making this year’s Institute a success and for helping us create a more trauma-informed Alaska.

25 total CEUs were awarded for the institute by the Alaska Board of Social Work Examiners and meets requirements outlined in 12 AAC 62.320. (a) and (3) for the Alaska Board of Professional Counselors (1.25 hours per session attended). Information for certificate copies has been emailed to 2025 institute participants.

Last day to register is MAY 27, 2025

Each year, the Alaska Advanced Trauma Training Institute features local Alaskan and national experts who share the latest research and advances in the neurobiology of traumatic stress, trauma-informed systems, and clinical interventions for complex trauma in children and adults. This high-quality professional development opportunity exists to expand the knowledge of and support the development of trauma-informed care for behavioral health and social service providers across Alaska.

This event is hosted by the Alaska Child Trauma Center at Alaska Behavioral Health. This is an in-person event in Anchorage, Alaska. There is no virtual attendance option at this time.

Registration is open! There is a fee of $200 for each attendee this year. This fee is to help offset some of the costs associated with presenting this Training Institute, without financial support from other entities this year. Alaska Behavioral Health is committed to learning and growth for behavioral health professionals and those they serve. We feel the opportunities for learning and expanding professional networks are valuable benefits of this conference and did not want to cancel due to funding changes. Please note – we will not be available to provide refunds on any tickets after May 16, 2025.

We are in the process of applying for CEUs for the 2025 AK Advanced Trauma Training Institute. There are no additional fees for CEUs. We will keep everyone apprised of what is ultimately awarded by state boards.
