ACMHS, Inc. was established in 1974
Anchorage Community Mental Health Services, Inc. (ACMHS) was established on June 11, 1974 as a private not-for-profit corporation to provide treatment for people with mental illness in the Anchorage area. Since then, we have served thousands of Alaskans experiencing mental health challenges, from chronic serious mental illness to anxiety and depression. Our goal has been the same throughout: to provide exceptional behavioral healthcare so that Alaskans with mental illness can live and thrive in their communities.
In 2020, we adopted the dba name Alaska Behavioral Health to better reflect the breadth of services and locations we serve. We now serve Alaskans through clinics in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Mat -Su and statewide via telehealth. Read more about our history here.
