ACMHS is seeking volunteers to provide Kid’s Club activities for children ages 3 to 10 while their parents are attending classes or support groups on-site in our Anchorage Child & Family clinic.

Our client families are working hard to become better attuned to their children’s emotional needs, understand the effects of trauma on children, and learn effective parenting skills. Many of our families face barriers to accessing services or life challenges. We’d like to make it easier for caregivers to participate by providing activities for their children during caregiver groups and sessions.

Kid’s Club will run from 1-2 hours, with a maximum ratio of 3 children per volunteer. ACMHS staff will provide a structure and activities geared to the age of the children and length of the session.  The children’s regular care-givers will be on site within the same suite and available in case of emergency.

Current needs for volunteers are Fridays from 10 am to 12:00 noon, with a weekday evening program to be starting up soon.  Volunteers must fill out a volunteer application and complete a background check. References will be checked. A brief in-person orientation is required.

To apply, please contact Jessica Cochran at jcochran@acmhs.com or 907-261-5330.
