May is National Mental Health Month

To celebrate, Alaska Behavioral Health, NAMI Anchorage and Out North are teaming up to host an art show!

Why art?

We value the power that comes with sharing one’s lived experiences and the connections that can be made in doing so. We also recognize that sharing experiences doesn’t always require words. This is why we are so excited to provide an opportunity for Alaskans to visually share their experiences with mental health and to connect through art.

Format

We will host both an online “virtual art show” as well as a physical show at the Jewel Lake Kaladi Brothers in Anchorage for the whole month of May.

Submissions

This year, artists have the choice of submitting high quality photographs of their work, to be included only in our on-line virtual show, or submitting work physically to all Alaska Behavioral Health locations in Anchorage and Fairbanks for consideration of inclusion in our in-person shows.  The deadline for submitting pieces has been extended through April 21.

Regardless of how the work is submitted, a submission form is required for each piece submitted.  The form can be submitted online, or downloaded here to submit in person with your pieces.

Alaska Behavioral Health clients submitting work also need to submit a Release of Information Form.
