Common Sense Parenting® (CSP) provides parents and caregivers with logical strategies and easy-to-learn techniques to address issues of communication, discipline, decision-making, relationships, self-control and school success. These classes incorporate research-proven child care methods that are derived directly from the Boys Town Family Home Program℠ and adapted for use in the home by parents.

Each skill and technique parents learn can be applied in any home environment and can help build and reinforce healthy family relationships.

Studies have shown decreased parental stress, decreases in child behavior problems, and improvements in parent attitudes, problem-solving skills, family satisfaction and child emotion regulation skills. Learn more about the efficacy of CSP from Boys Town USA.

We are offering Common Sense parenting classes in Anchorage at no cost to families through a Municipality of Anchorage Alcohol Tax Prevention Grant in partnership with the Alaska Children’s Trust.

Classes run for six sessions, each 2 hours long.  Sign up below, and staff will follow up to get you scheduled for an upcoming class!
